Never say never, as my father-in-law used to tell me. I’m back on Facebook, thanks to a high school friend who said I needed to rejoin as part of our planning for our upcoming 30th Reunion at Okemos High School in 2010. I’ve actually renewed some friendships several old high school friends, and making “new” friends among my classmates who I didn’t know very well when we in high school together. I’ve learned how to limit the amount of updates for those friends who want to update their activities every few hours.
I have deleted my Twitter account. There’s some redundancy with Facebook in terms of keeping me apprised of my friends’ activities and thoughts, and right now it seems to only exacerbate any ADHD I might have!
For the second, and last time, I deleted my Facebook account. I never have really used it, and find LinkedIn.com much more useful for my social networking and contact information purposes. Plus, I had a couple of friends who updated their activities every hour it seems, with cooking, cleaning, and other pedestrian activities, which then get pushed onto my profile. I don’t mind talking about minutia with someone on the phone, because I can always let the person know when it becomes boring, or if I don’t have time for such stuff. I’m also a neat freak, and I as much as I don’t like my own clutter on my real or virtual desktops, I despite it when other people put stuff that doesn’t belong to me on my desktops. Call me old-fashioned, but when I want to connect with my friends, I really want to connect, whether by phone, email, or visiting face-to-face.

FaceBook is very confusing. Seriously, I have a lot of trouble with FaceBook. Every time I log in I have to accept / decline / ignore some strange gift item or a new group that I have been invited too. It gets annoying.
